Oral protrusive devices
Oral protrusive devices are regarded as an alternative treatment option for
snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea. The sleep laboratory of
the University Hospital of Freiburg referred 112 patients with obstructive sleep
apnoea
The 11th annual Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
The 11th annual Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine meeting featured some of the
field's most well known researchers who presented the latest findings in oral
appliance therapy.
Support is growing within scientific publications for the use of oral appliance
therapy in patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea, according to
Wolfgang Schmidt-Nowara, MD, who presented an annual review course titled,
"Update in Sleep Medicine: New Developments

Medical Residents limited to an 80-hour week. In Chicago a body that
accredits medical residents stated that medical residents cannot work more than
an average of 80 hours a week. /.................
Past Events
for ISAT Members
An informal meeting for ISAT members in the ERHA (Eastern Regional Health
Authority area) was held on 19th March 2003 in the Royal Marine Hotel Dun
Laoghaire. The Panel included Dr. Liam Doherty, Sleep Disorders Unit, St.
Vincent’s University Hospital. It is hoped to continue these meetings on a
regular basis and to extend them to the other Health Service Executive (HSE) [
http://www.hse.ie/en/ ] areas during the course of the coming months.
