Access to Dublin Airport by Car, Bus, Rental Car or by Taxi

BY CAR -

Dublin Airport is easy to access from the M50 or M1/N1.
The airport is located a few miles north of Dublin city. It is served by car, buses, taxis and rental car.
Dublin Airport, (Gaelic: Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath).
  • Coming from the South or West - Most major national roads (N81, N7, N4, N3, N2) lead to the M50 ring road.  Head north on the M50 to the north M1 exit and stay in the left lane.  The airport roundabout is the first traffic light you will reach.  Just follow the signpost directions to The Great Southern Hotel, Dublin Airport - Now named the Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin Airport
  • Coming from the North - The N1/M1 heading south will take you directly to the airport roundabout. Just follow the signpost directions.
  • Coming from the East - Heading north on the N1/M1 will take you directly to the airport roundabout. Just follow the signpost directions.
  • Returning a rental car -Contact your car hire agent for details on where to return your car, as there are locations both within the airport and outside.

 

TAXI -

You can get a taxi from the airport to most areas in Dublin. An average day fare from City Centre is €15.00. Ask the taxi driver to estimate the fare before getting into the car if in doubt.  There are extra charges for additional passengers, luggage, animals (other than guide dog), time of day, Sundays, and public holidays.  All information regarding charges is available from the taxi driver.  Details also available at the taxi rank at the airport

BUS -

Dublin Airport is accessible by over 700 buses daily.  You can reach the airport by bus from many areas outside of Dublin.  AirLink service will bring you direct from Dublin City Centre or Rail/Bus Stations to Dublin Airport.
Route 747 AirLink for service to and from Dublin Airport via Central Bus Station and Connolly Rail Station.
Route 748 AirLink for service to and from Dublin Airport via Heuston Rail Station, Connolly Rail Station and Central Bus Station.

FROM DUBLIN AREA

 

AerDart has a shuttle bus service between Howth Junction DART station and Dublin Airport. Service is every 15 minutes and cost approximately €5.00.

 

Aircoach offers service from City Centre and South Dublin City to the airport. Their service runs 24 hours, every day. Tickets can be purchased from the Bus Driver and cost approximately €6.00 (one-way) or €10(return). This service stops at most of the major hotels around Dublin City.

 

Dublin Bus offers many routes throughout Dublin to the airport, including an AirLink express bus from Heuston and Connolly Rail Stations. For the latest route details and timetable information click the following www.dublinbus.ie.

 

FROM THE NORTH OF DUBLIN

 

Bus Eireann provides daily bus service from Belfast, Banbridge, Newry, Dundalk, Drogheda, and Balbriggan to Dublin Airport.

 

FROM THE SOUTH OF DUBLIN

 

Dualway has bus service from Rathcoole and Tallaght to Dublin Airport.

 

J J Kavanagh provides bus service from Tramore and Waterford to Dublin Airport.
