The Cpap machine is a Blessing for me. I wake up feeling great, with more
energy after having a Full night sleep. And now that studies have found it
also helps the heart, especially those that have an enlarge heart, I have
hopes of feeling even better in the future. I suffer from CHD/ CAD/COPD/SOB/Sleep
apnea/Diabetic-11/ HBP/and I'm sure all these conditions have come due to
the apnea I have had for years and did not know until I stay at a friends
house and she told me how I would snore very loud, then stop, and as she
watched, she notice I would stop breathing, then catch my breath again, I
did this all night. I also notice that while I was watching TV, I would
hold my breath as I relaxed. I would also snore while I (think) I was
awake watching TV, my daughter would say: Mom, your falling asleep because
your snoring, But I did not realize that I was asleep, because I thought I
was awake watching the TV. But the most scary part to me is that when ever
I would "RELAX" my body, I would hold my breath. The Cpap is a Blessing
for me and I would not sleep without it.

Thanks for an excellent site. I visit it regularly and have found some of
the info very helpful. Keep up the good work. For Carmel from Kerry
regarding sleep apnoea and lupus. I have what has been described as severe
sleep apnoea (pressure 16 on cpap) and lupus. I have found that symptoms
which my rheumatologist identified as related to lupus have disappeared or
been less detrimental to my health and wellbeing since i was diagnosed
with sleep apnoea 2 years ago. I would be interested in discussing this
with you if you are interested. My email address is marys@gil.com.au.

Been off work with this condition from October 2002. Just got my positive
pressure pump / mask today. Your web site is clearly done with a personal
passion, you give information clearly and logically. I am diabetic and my
son is autistic, my experience is those web sites compiled by, I won't say
'sufferers' but living 'with the condition' have a clearer understanding
of both the medical and personal problems. Well done and keep up the good
work. I have added your site to my 'favourites' list. C Brett Nottingham

So glad to see this information in Ireland. Have Foreign Born Citizenship,
last at Sligo General Hospital in April 1999, and no one had much of an
idea of Sleep Medicine at the time. Those roads are narrow, so we don't
want any sleepy drivers. Peter E Corrigan MD, ABSM (Certified by American

The News Review section is most informative and certainly keeps one
up-to-date with current news on sleep apnoea. I did not realize that it
was so much in the news. It is obvious that many people are ignorant of
the existence of the disorder and if it were made known, many sufferers
might obviously have a much greater quality of life than they do, and more
importantly be less of a danger to themselves and to others, especially
road users. John Co. Wicklow.

I find the site very user friendly and informative. As a recent sufferer
of Sleep Apnoea, it is good to log on to this site for it makes one feel
that they are not alone in ones disorder. I am now using CPAP and I am
delighted with the results. I have told my friends about this site, for I
know many of them may be suffering from the disorder and don't know they
are. It was because of this site that I became a member of I.S.A.T. last
October. Alex Davidson, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
