Cystinosis
Foundation Ireland |
|
|
|
|
Cystinosis Foundation Ireland
is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing
services for those suffering from Cystinosis by:
- Patient/Parental Support -
Patients/Parents are given information and referrals, and receive
support from other families affected by the disease.
- Providing an Internet Website with
information on what is available to the patient with Cystinosis in
Ireland.
- Education and awareness about the
condition to the Medical Profession and the public. Almost nothing is
known about the condition in the general public and indeed in the
Medical Profession. Many patients have experienced misdiagnosis,
sometimes taking months and, on occasion, years to be correctly
diagnosed. Early diagnosis is crucial so that cysteamine therapy (Cystagon™)
is started as soon as possible.
- Research Support - The Foundation
raises funds to promote research on causes and treatments of Cystinosis.
To hopefully one day find a cure.
Cystinosis Foundation Ireland was set up in 2003

seriously consider including a link.
We will also consider linking commercial websites for financial gain to the
